This limited-edition linocut, one of 30, titled ‘Time for a Paddle’, depicts a scene of a child at the beach.
The work is numbered, signed and dated by the artist (2016).
Three works, In the Shade, Uluru and Time for a Paddle were commissioned by Big Island Designs to depict scenes of Australian life and to show the colours of Australia. The prints work well individually or as a series.
The work is presented in a custom made matt border and backing which fits a standard 8 by 10-inch frame that is commonly available.

Artist: Mark Rowden

About the artist:

Mark Rowden is one of the community’s most outstanding, emerging printmakers. Mark was born in Margate, England and moved to Australia in 1996 where he received a Bachelor of Arts at the National Art School. He received second placing in the 2007 Saatchi Showdown Competition and won the Waverley Art Prize for Printmaking in 2008. He trained and worked under Master Printer Diana Davidson at Whaling Road Studios, one of the oldest fine art editioning studios in Australia. Mark has shown in many group and solo shows throughout Australia and has worked with notable artists including Charles Blackman, Martin Sharp & Peter Kingston.
