$35.00 ex GST

Slimline timber ball point pen.

Each pen is turned from Australian timber.  The pen is lightweight, comfortable in the hand and its timber has unique character.  These pens make ideal work gifts for overseas visitors and your business associates.

River red Gum Eucalyptus camaldulensis is Australia’s massive and majestic, iconic tree with many uses.  This pen was recycled from an old fence post.

Dimensions: 13 cm x 1 cm

Materials: River Red Gum timber

Pen Care:

Timber’s natural oils can dry out and wood may crack if your pen is exposed to heat. From time to time re-polish the timber with a tiny dab of furniture wax such as a beeswax based product. All timber darkens with age.

Changing the refill is simple. Twist the top and bottom in opposite directions while pulling apart. Unscrew the refill and pull it out of the twist barrel.  Screw in a new refill [sold by stationers] and then simply push the two halves of the pen back together.

About the artist:

Rob Wood’s studio is based in Geelong, Victoria.

Rob creates elegant pens using a variety of Australian timbers including silky oak, river red gum, huon pine and Otways blackwood – often from recycled timber or timber from his own farm.  The source of the timber for each pen is included with the pen. Instructions for pen care and changing a refill (sold by stationers) are also included with the pen. Rob has been making pens for 30 years. His beautifully crafted and polished pens are made ‘the old fashioned way’ -one at a time on a manual lathe. The infinite range of grain patterns and colours makes each pen unique.
